About the Trauma Recovery Alliance

The Trauma Recovery Alliance (TRA) is a nonprofit education and advocacy organization dedicated to supporting individuals and communities impacted by trauma, depression, PTSD, and collective harm.We exist to advance compassionate, community-based approaches to trauma recovery through public education, harm-reduction principles, survivor-led dialogue, and evidence-informed discussion. Our work centers dignity, personal agency, and respect for both lived experience and emerging research.

Why We Exist

Many individuals navigating trauma, depression, and PTSD encounter systems that feel inaccessible, stigmatizing, or disconnected from their lived realities. At the same time, public conversation around trauma recovery—particularly non-pharmaceutical and community-based approaches—is often polarized or poorly informed. The Trauma Recovery Alliance was formed to create a thoughtful, responsible space for education and dialogue around trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and traditional practices—without commercial influence, medical claims, or therapeutic intervention. We believe healing conversations should be grounded in safety, respect, and informed choice, and that survivors deserve spaces where their experiences are honored without being exploited or medicalized.

Our Guiding Principles

Education First

We prioritize public education, shared learning, and access to accurate information over instruction or intervention.

Harm Reduction

We support approaches that reduce risk, stigma, and misinformation while encouraging personal responsibility and informed decision-making.

Survivor-Led Dialogue

Lived experience matters. We center survivor voices while respecting boundaries and avoiding retraumatization.

Non-Commercial & Non-Clinical

TRA does not sell products, provide therapy, or facilitate access to substances. Our work is educational and advocacy-focused only.

Dignity & Autonomy

Every individual deserves respect, agency, and the right to make informed choices about their own healing journey.
